Hamburger Helper and Funny Flan

Tonight Erica was going to make some hamburger helper, basically to just get rid of it...we received 4 boxes as a wedding gift, but Erica doesn't want to calculate the sodium content of the entire box...yikes. She also stopped buying ground beef to begin eating a little healthier, so she was going to make the helper with grilled chicken instead. Craig picked the three cheese helper and she began to cook the helper before the chicken. As she started preparing the chicken, she smelled something terrible. She finally traced it to the not so obvious chicken she was preparing. It was just an expired chicken breast. Ew. So, she fessed up to Craig, who said It's ok. We'll just go out to eat (bc we had no other meat in the fridge). We decided to toss the helper bc we didn't want to wait 15 minutes to go out to eat, even though Craig was very disappointed, the helper being "the best one!" we had. :)

So, we went out to eat with Erica's parents to a local mexican restaurant. We ordered, but forgot to tell the waiter that we would take the check, so after our meal, I quietly told the waiter that it would be "All on one". He says okay and comes back with a dessert with 2 spoons. Craig and I just look at each other and wonder what to do. Was this a gift? Mom and Dad did you order this? I said, "I told him it would be all on one...do you think he thought I said a piece of flan?" Craig laughed...but sure enough, we asked the waiter and he thought I had said a piece of flan...not all on one. Lol. It was pretty humorous. We felt bad about not eating the flan, but of all the desserts in the world, Erica HATES flan the most. :)
