Walking the Trail

This morning Craig and I walked a four mile trail down the road from us. We drove to get there and have only walked part of it once when my mom was here to visit. When my mom was here I said, We should walk this every Saturday. Craig said, "Only if I get to watch football all Saturday and all Sunday." And I am so desperate to walk with him that I agreed! :) So today we walked it. I asked him this morning if he was dreading walking the trail. He said, "No not dreading it, but if we walk together that probably means we have to talk and if we don't talk then we'll get bored. What do we have to talk about?" Lol. I said, "Then we'll bring our iPods." So, we did. We talked a little while we walked. I started out talking really loud accidentally because I wanted to talk over my music and his music, but we both had ours pretty quiet and Craig got a little embarrassed. Haha.
Tribute to Dad:
We were walking and I heard a whistle that sounded like a soccer game. Sure enough there were a bunch of soccer fields with a couple games going on. I told Craig...if my dad was here, he would go watch the game. Craig just nodded his head. A few minutes later I said, "Wanna go watch?" Lol. He said No. Haha. So, Dad...I know you'll love this walking trail, so you should come and walk it with me and we can stop and watch the soccer games for a while, but we must stay on the trail...no adventurous off roading. :)
We jogged about the last 1/2 mile or so....and we were dead. Lol. We are very out of shape. Craig said, okay at the end of my song we'll start jogging. I couldn't hear his music obviously so I said, Okay just let me know. :) Then when we were getting really tired and the sun was getting hotter, he said, "Okay at the end of my song we'll stop. Like 3 minutes." "Okay let me know." I started a 3 1/2 minute song on my iPod and said we'd be done when it was over....we were still running when my song was over. I started slowing down and stopped. He ran ahead til his song was over. I caught up to him and he said, "Well...my song was a little longer than I thought." LOL. I said Yeah I noticed. Lol.
We were sweaty and overheated and out of breath, but I am so glad we went. It was a great husband and wife bonding time and we need to exercise more. :) But I just love walking next to him and being together. He was a trooper to walk the whole trail with me. :) Now he can watch his ND, Ohio State, and Colts Football games this weekend "guilt free" he said. :) And I am going to watch some chic flicks and movies he will never want to watch with just as much pleasure. :)

  1. Now Craig, we need to talk. You need to be thrilled to go for a walk with your wife. You just got a little glimpse into what makes her feel loved- spending time together. And let me give you a little tip about women- we like to talk. Spending time talking is about the best thing we can get. If you need something to talk about think of questions like: "Where would you travel if you could go anywhere?" "What was your favorite birthday as a kid?" etc. If you need more ideas, let me know. Remember- love is doing what the other person loves! And in a few years, when you have popped out a few kids, you will wish you had time to go for a walk together!!!
