7 weeks old!

I should be posting more and taking and uploading more pictures, but the days just get away from me. I mean, how can you resist cuddling such a sweet baby, watching him learn, making him smile, just to take a couple photos of him looking the other way? : ) I get the video out every so often when Craig is making him smile (a daily occurrence now). Hopefully Aunt Carla will take some more pictures soon! He is changing so much. He sleeps about every 3 1/2 - 4 hours at night, which is fine with me right now. It will be nice when he goes longer, but that also will mean I will make the transition to his crib in his room instead of the basinet in our room. : (

I guess every first time mom figures out her own routine and methods of parenting, but I wonder sometimes if I'm doing things right. Is there a "right" way to take care of a baby (including feeding times, sleeping times, sleeping positions, etc) or is the right way just whatever is comfortable to us? Baby Wise is the thing to do at our church, everyone asks me if I'm doing it, but 15 min of crying is NOT going to be fun nor does it seem right when it comes to my baby. I can handle maybe 2 minutes and that's if I distract myself just to see if he will put himself to sleep. He does put himself to sleep during the day at times, but usually before 2 minutes passes. So after 2 minutes, he's in my arms again. :) He's still little and I don't want to start it too early. He's such a good baby, it seems cruel right now. :)

Two things I thought I would do all the time and right away is sing and read to Jaden. I have done very little of either of those! I purposefully got out a book during his nap so I will read to him after the next feeding and singing will be easier when he can interact and learn the songs too...but how else is he supposed to learn them if I don't sing them?! :) Must start making that a priority. :) When I do sing (when he's fussy at night) I sing praise and worship songs. Many calm songs that are so much more meaningful than Twinkle Twinkle.

So, no pictures this post, but hopefully I will get all the cords out for my camera(s) and upload all the recent pictures. Also, Carla has baby dedication pictures from church that I can't wait to get my hands on and share! Until next month...lol hopefully not that long. He grows too fast.

Oh and by the way...Jaden was 10 lbs 9 oz last week...is eating every two hours this week...so he's GOT to be over 11 lbs. Wowzer. Also, I've never had to lose weight before, but I'm aiming for 12 lbs lost or at least muscle in place of the fat. :) finding time for exercise will be real fun! :)
